The ca- thedral vas taxed to its capacity, {and the sermon was intensely 'inter- esting, Fr. Dayle reviewed the Biblical {story of the Judgmént Day and the {signs that will be shown the world when it shall come.' The' speaker urged all to be ready to meet their {God on that Day. Uncertainty With Regard to Market- , ing Butcher Stock. Toronto Globe Inquiries are coming in from feed- ers of cattle ,or information regard- ing the best time to market butcher stock. This is an especially puzzling question this season. Feed is ex- cessively high, and those who have it {are inclined to take a sure profit lon it rather than risk it in feeding cattle to the finished state or hold- ing them for higher market values. Another feature to consider this year is' consumption. This has fallen off, because people are 'eating less meat. They are eating less meat because their incomes have been cut down. The Lent séason has also figured in the. recent past. In spite of these factors, some of the hest authorities in the business, feeders, drovers, packers and commission 'men, are bullish in their | views on the market 'for May, and es- pecially for June. A large number of { unfinished butchers' that would na- turally have come out later have al- | ready been Zabattoired. The fact that {| Morris & Co., of Chicago, paid well over $9 per hundredweight for dis- tillery cattle in Toronto for May de- livery is an indication of opinion { Chicago.
