MacLaren Imperial Cheese Not Un- der Investigation. 3 To silence certain which have associated: their name with recent reports in the public press, the MacLaren Imperial Cheese Company, Limited, have authorized the statement that they are In no way connected with any other firm operating under the name of Mac- Laren They further state, in the most emphatic terms, that the Mac- Laren Imperial Cheese Company has not, either as a company or tnrough any of its officers or directors, been interested directly or indirectly in the deals which the Government has seen fit to investigate. Many people have been led to be- lieve that the MacLaren firm, which has been called upon to appear at the recent investigation in connec- tion with the supplying of jam for the Canadian troops, is the well- known house above mentioned. As reported in the press, it might easily have appeared so, because the name of the firm was variously given, and no attempt was made to indicate just which MacLaren concern was in- volved. in name has 'caused Imperial Cheese Company, Limited, considerable annoyance.
