BOY BURGLARS CAUGHT ADMITTED THEIR GUILT IN THE JUVENILE COURT. Two Were Sent to the Industrial School, and the Other Was Allow- ed To Go On Suspended Senténce ~Were Rounded v p By Constable Arniel. The boy burglars have been round- ed up. In the arrest of three lads, two fourteen years old, and the oth- er fifteen by Constab.e Samuel Ar- niel, on Thursday afternoon, the the mystery surrounding the many thefts at stores in different parts of the city, has been cleared up. Con-| stable Arniel not only secured the] guilty parties, but also a good Jeal of the stolen goods, which cons sied of several watches, a revolver auc a large quantity of tobacco. The boys had disposed of the money they had stolen at the different stores. The lads appeared before Magis- trate Farrell, in the Juvenile Court, on Friday morning, and pleaded guilty. Two were sentenced to an [indefinite term, in the Industrial | School, and the other was allowed] ta go on suspended senfence. { Constable Arnie] has been hard at work on the case all this week.| Almost every day, complaints have been coming into the police about stores being robbed. The boys ad- mitted to the Magistrate that they had robbed thirteen stores. Evident- ly thirteen was an unlucky number, for them, as their arrest took place after the thirteenth had been pulied off. The lads put up a stiff fight at first, and to Constable Arniel stoutly denied thé charge, but when the con stable commenced to wind the evi {dence he had gathered around them, they frankly confessed. The two lads in the Industrial | School have been in trouble befcre, hence their removal to the Indus- { trial School. As this is the first false step on the part of the other lad, he has been given a chance to make good. The mother of one of the | lads who was in court fainted away, and had to be carried out of the room, | Aftér admitting that they had com- mitted the robberies, the boys told | Constable Arniel where some of the plunder had been hidden, and it was secured, and will be handed over to { the merchants, who suffered the loss. {Tn a laneway near Laidlaw's store was unearthed a revolver and three {watches and under a sidewalk on] { Sixth street was located a large | quantity of cigarettes. It appears that one of the lads, { while at school on Thursday, atcci- dentally dropped some cigarettes out MAYOR a OFFER TO THE | MINISTER OF MIL mal AT OTTAWA To Take Care of 1.500 Additional!
