TWO AEROPLANES CRASH BARRIEFIELD CAMP LANDINGS ONCE MORE A JONAH Both Machines of the Royal Flying Corps Come to Grief--Neither of ithe Aviators Was Injured Just at 6 o'clock on Sunday morn- ing two aeroplanes appeared over Barriefield camp and hovered over- head for several minutes. One of the machines appeared to have a defec- tive engine and it descended. The other machine followed its example and also came to the Mechanics from the Army Service Corps Mechanical Transport were called and the engine was repaired by cleaning and readjusting the spark-plugs until it apparently van much smoother. The pilot then as- cended to try out the machine. He made two circles but the engine con- tinued to work badly' and finally stopped dead. The pilot, was flying under the circumstances. ~ The ma- chine touched the ground, sprang into the air and then came to a stop on its nose, the propeller and engine being badly smashed in the accident. The aviator was unhurt. The other aeroplane meanwhile decided to return to the camp, It 'was on soft ground on the western Parade ground.
