Now that the war is over, the aero- plane will become a means of com- mercial 'transport, and will be de- veloped along peace-time lines, Queen's University is determined to be inthe lead in this development, and already steps are being taken to have aeroplane instguction included in the faculty of science To this end the Royal Air Force, on demobi- lization, is handing over to Queen's for the purpose of study the follow- ing materials: One Avro deropla-e, fitted with an 130 H. P. rotary Clerget engine; one Curtiss aeroplane, fitted with instru- ments and wireless apparatus; one Gnome rotary engine, one 90 H. Pp. Curtiss engine, one 110 H. P. Ja Rhone engine, one spare 130 HH. P. Clerget engine, an assortment of wire less instructional apparatus, an as- sortment of photography instruction- al apparatus, and of aerial gunnery instructional apparatus, including two machine guns. Prof. L. W. Gill, who bas been overseas as a major, is greatly inter- ested in the future of the aeroplane, while Prof. G. L. Guillet, and Prof. E. W. Henderson, of the faculty of applied science, are greatly concern- ed with the mechanical and wireless apparatus. It « is interesting to Kingstonians to know that the uni- versity here is to take a leading part in this branch ,of applied science, and that no time. is being wasted in get- ting to work.
