The major is still in hospital. } TO ASK THE CITY To Arrange For Monster Reception For 21st Battalion. The returned men of the 2nd Battalion, following the lead of the 21st and the R.CH.A., are to form a hattalion club. The club is to have its first meeting in the G. W V.) A. rooms on Thursday evening , when it is expected that there will he a large attendance of 2nd Battalion veterans. The 21st Battalion Club met in Hu G.W.,V.A. rooms on Thursday evening at eight o'clock. There = 2 " - Was a 1aYge attendance of members| { of the battalion, 'Comrade Tug- wood, vice-president, occupied the chair. ~ A commiftee was appojnted to wait upon the council fo ask that a civic committee be formed to make arrangements for a monster reception for the 21st Battalion when it arrives in Kingston. This committee consists of Captain Me- Culla, Captain Taylor and Captain Sleeth. A committee to help 21st men to obtain employment was also formed. It was reported that over one thousand tickets have been sold for the draw for a cake, which is being held in aid of the funds of the club. The banquet is to be held dyring the first"week in March. The club is making arrangements to have the G.W.V.A. meeting. room decorated ;with pictures and souvenirs of the 21st Battalion, so that it will be the official 21st Battalion ~ club room until. separate quarters can be se- cured, if it is decided to open sepa- rate rooms. . | In Aid of Hotel Dieu. A handsome khaki sofa pillow, beautifully embroidered in silken Flander field poppies, will be dis- posed of March 17th, the afterndon of the Hotel Dieu Hospital ahnual linen shower, held this year as usual by the kind ladies of the auxfiry staff.
