"Yes, 1 feel as well as ever I did in my life and I give Dodd's Kidney Pills all the credit." The speaker was Mrs, E. Weberg, a highly-re- spected resident here, who for some time was a severe sufferer from rheu- matism-and kidney trouble. "My trouble started with a cold," Weberg continued. "I could not throw off the after-effects. My sleep was broken, I felt heavy and sleepy after meals and I was always tired and nervous. , Stiffness in the joints, cramps im the muscles and then headache and heart flutterings followed. "Then dropsy and rheumatism set in. I could pot work on account of my sore back. I got so bad I could not turn myself in bed. "I suffered d¢»~ a year before 1 started to use Dodd's Kidney Pills. 1 used two boxes and mow I feel as well as ever 1 did in my life." Mrs. Weberg, who looks the pic- ture of health, struck at the root of all her troubles when she used Lodd's Kidney Pills. All. her ills came from sick kidneys. Dodd's Kidney Pills are purely and simply a kidney remedy, Their record for the last twenty-five years is the cause of their popularity. Ask your neigh- bors about them. an. He will find that it's more from human selfishness and no consideration 10x our neighbors' needs, as well as our own, that causes the most of our dif- ficulties, 1 quite agree with Mr. Shaw that pat are men in high places that rl i { 1 sould never be there, but the people have a remedy. If France and Great Britain had quoted scripture and | prayed to Germany, what good would | it have done? = The only thing that | brought Emperor Bill to his right senses was the British Dreadnaughts and French Seventy-fives. And the right remedy or what Mr. Shaw complains of is good, straight, un- selfish government. A great many will say, "Can we get that?" | say we can by the press of our country taking the lead, and exposing those grafters, extortioners and shady poli- tigians. There's no use saying _that all our laws are wrong. They are not. Bat it's needless to deny that some are a great deal more helpful than oth- ers. Especially in the tariff. But | the people have a remedy. Let them stop and think for themselves, use their votes right and not be led away by glib-tongued politicians, as Mr. Shaw says. Let them realize their need and their neighbors' need, as well; not only think of themselves but realize that there other men and women that need a helping hang: and they will not need to pray & preach to other people. They, will have plenty of time to pray for themselves. 1 do not want any one to think that I mean it is wrong to refer to.the bible, or to pray, but what I do mean is that it is useless to quote scripture and pray to those Kind of men that Mr. Shaw refers to. The only way is to use the best and most useful weapon en those men in public life who try to cheat the public. Expose Syn and put them where they helong. I do not believe that the trouble all lies in political parties or unions. It lies entirely in the private individual himself or her- self, who will not try to think for themselves, but is only too ready to be led, never stopping to think whether it is the right way or the WIODg way. YZ ~--DELORM BEDORE. The Tyranny of Trade. Kingston, March 29.--(To the Edi- tor): In your issue of a fortnight back you expose the tyranny of trade and its cut-purse gangs and the pub- lic feels obliged to you for your at- tempts to restrain the will of these miscreants, whose tactics are pir atical and should be indicted and punished as such, for piracy is still a capital crime, whether upon sea or land. AM such wickedness is odious to God and man! Apropos hereon Roman Cato had a drite saying, "That it were hard to save that land when extravagance and extortion caused a fish to sell .for more than an ox," but added he, "There are many left-handed Catos 'who ain only be heard through the belly- purse." This dicta was never nore potent than when fate removed Sir John (the Just) and the land may well cry, "How are the mighty fall- en," Therefore, I hold that it is the su- to indict these miscreants us pirates odious to God and man or we con- done that most henious of all crimes, doubly so when sheltered Wy the cross of Christ, and to suffer such degradation is to proclaim the law void and inoperative, which may heaven forbid!
