Bushell; the secretary, announced that Mr. Tofield, the manager of the Merchants'! Bank, Kingston, had of- lifered a rize of twenty-five dollars to provide a sterling silver cup to be awarded to the highest prize win- Hiner in the live stock competition, in- fi cluding horses, rattle, sheep and hogs, Mr. Tofield has alsa given a prize for best exhibit of cheese. An important meeting of the 21st Batialion Club was 'held in the G.W.V.A. rooms 'on Thursday even- ing. Comrade A. Tugwood, vice- president, ocoupied the chair, and the small meéting room wad crowded. The chief business was the arranging of a banquet for the battalion on its return from overseas. It was an- nounced that it was likely that the unit would reach here about the first week in May, exactly four years after the date on which they left Kingston. It was the unanimous quet be held on the evening of the arrival of the unit. So that all could attend. pointed to interview Brig.-Gen. V. A. 8S. Williams, with a view to securing the Armouries for this event, and to making arrangements for baving the men attend.
