Prices showed a tendency to drop. Butter showed a further de- crease of a few cents and sold at 53 to 55 cents a pound, but eggs sold at 50 cents a dozen. A few fowls were on hund and the pricés were from $1.75 to $2.50. Veal brought 16 and 17 cents a pound for forequart- ers and 21 and 22 cents a pound for hindquarters. Potatoes showed a! substantial drop in price, the most | being sold at $1.25 a bag. Large quantities of spring veg- etables were on the market. Lettuce sold at 5 and 1y cents a bunch.
