MARTIN, The Floral Decorations in Church and Home Were Very Fine----The Groom Belongs to Moscow. Verona, Aug. 16.--The Methodist C Verona, banked with ferms and tastefully decorated with hy- drangea, pond lilies, and immortelles, Was the scene of a pretty wedding at Room on Wednesday, August 13th, when, under a beautiful arch of ever- greens, Immortelles, pond llies and & cluster of wedding bells, Edith Ethelwyn, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. B. M. Yorke, was married to Earl Leonard Martin, only son of Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Martin, Moscow. Rev. George Stafford, of Sydenham, officiated, and Mrs. (Dr.) W. J. Geddes played the wedding music The ushers were Wilfred Potter and Ralph Huffman, The bride, gowned in ivory duch- ess satin with veil in Juliet style, caught with the conventional wreath of orange blossoms, carried a shower bouquet of white carnations, and entered the church on the arm of her father, to the strains of the bri- dal chorus from "Lohengrin." There were no attendants. After the cere- mony about thirty guests repaired to the home of the bride, where con- gratulations were extended. Dur- ing the signing of the register Mrs. Geddes sang "O Promise Me." The house was beautifully decorat- ed with ferns and white flowers throughout, the dining room having the addition of table decorations of Sweet peas, sweetheart roses and asparagus fern, A buffet luncheon was served by Miss Cooper and Miss Huffman, assisted by the ushers. The gown of the bride's mother was amethyst silk poplin, and that of tie groom's mother was black satin. The bride's travelling suit was navy blue serge trimmed with sand-colored silk with hat to match. The happy pair left by motor for Kingston, where they took passage on the steamer Toronto for an ex- tended trip through western Ontario to visit a number of friends at vari- ous points, among whom is C. GG. Yorke, B.A., only brother of the bride, who is principal of the High School at Rodney. Automobile Stolen--One Left on the Road. Wilton, Aug. 18.--The lawn social held on the Methodist church lawn on Aug. 14th, under the auspices of the Mission Band, was a decided suc- cess in every way. The lawn was ar- tistically decorated. The nusie, furnished by the "On We Glide" or- chestra of Napanee, was enjoyed by the large crowd. The proceeds amounted to $123. The new barn being built by Lorn Storms is about completed. Wilton had a large number of visitors the past few weeks, The. garage of Lorn Storms was broken in on Saturday night and his car taken away. The parties not un- derstanding just how to make the machine work, left it on the road-side some distance away. James Me- Gaughey's car was also stolen from his garage and as yet no trace of the car is known. Mr, and 'Mrs. Erwell Miller in company with Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Miller, Sandhurst, and Mr. and Mrs. W. Kerfoot, Smith's Falls, re- turned on Friday from an extensive motor trip to Montreal and American points. P. M.
