T. Ritchie, Principal of the Congregational College, Montreal: The members of the gational churches met together Friday evening at the First Chure lecture hall to get the great Forward Movement. under way. About two hundred sat down to supper and after- ward listened to an inspiring -speech imade by Dr. ET. Ritchie, DD. Ph.D., the newly elected principal of {the Congregational College in Montre- ial. Dr. Ritchie is just over from the Old Country, where the Professor,of Philosophy at Nottingham University, {and he was sent to Canada to take over the principalship of the college in Montreal. In explaining the need for a Forward Movement, Dr. Ritchie dwelt on the great need of a soul in a nation. These men knew v they were going into an they paid the price willingly The people in Canada could not realize what Europe was in those days, many lost their nearest and dearest, and even then they cpuld not, unless they had been there, know what a state the world had come to And so the churches of Canada were going to protect a Forward Movement to try and place the world on a foot- ing that it will be fit to live in. "Nan" Gets Lonesomee, Recently "Nan," the goat mascot of the 21st Battalion during the war, was rather sick, so Dr. W. G. Bell was called. After making a thorough examination the doctor was convine- od that there was nothing wrong with the animal, only that she was donesome. During the four years that she served with the battalion she was always round the horse Hnes. Since she has been out at the Mowat hospital, where there are no horses, the goat has appeared very lonesome at times, On Saturday morning "Nan" made a flne appearance in the veterans' parade. As she was overseas four years she is entitled to wear five blue chevrons, as well as the 1915 star. wR Assumes Command Monday. Brig.-Gen. Henri A. Panet, C.
