He has a rich store-of | recollections of the early struggles of Confederation, and has vivid | reminiscences of his connection with the late Sir John A. MacDonald, who was in reality his tufor in political | matters. He was a tower of strength { to the Conservative party for very | many years and was the force behind | its organization In the province of | Ontario. He was one of the founde»s | | of the Albany Club, of which he is a | lite member, and he also belongs to | the Lafontaine Club of Montreal.
