Godfrey, Ont., Feb, 15.----(To the Editor) : You asked the views held by readers as to the scriptural auth- public. I am a farmer's wife and am not wanting to preach, but scriptural authority is very clear when we un- derstand the scriptures right, Paul i sald, Let the women keep silent," I. Corinthians XIV. 34, Throughout this whole chapter Paul is correcting abuses that had arisen in the'public services of the church at Corinth, In these verses he is not considering women preaching at all In the synagogue meetings men were per- mitted to speak out during preaching, to ask questions, but women were not allowed such liberty, it being counted unbecoming for them to do s0. Paul had respect to public senti- ment in the matter, and no doubt had the same feeling of propriety himself. Women were allowed to exercise their gifts in the meetings, as is plainly shown in this same chap- ter where Paul says, "Ye may all prophesy," (v. 31). In chapter IL, speaking of the public services, he allows the women both to pray and prophesy (v. 5) in the church, pro- "4 | vided she wears. the veil that the | FAINT AND DIZZY SPELLS WEAKNESS AND SHORTNESS 'OF BREATH You can generally tell when the heart: is affected by the faint and dizzy spells, the shortness of breath, palpitation, throbbing, irregular beat- ing, smothering sensations, weak, sinking, all-gone feeling, choking sensation, etc. Many men and women become n-down and worn olt when other- he they could be strong and healthy if they would only pay some attention 'to the first sign of heart weakness. Greek : According to the cyclopedic concord- ance of the Oxford Teaghers' Bible, a prophet is ong who speaks forth the message which has been communi cated to him through divine inspira- tion, whether of practical duties or future events. Hebrew : To forth as a fountain; hence one who speaks out freely from a full hegrt, impelled by an inspiration from God. (2) One who sees¥divine visions, div-, ine truths, end speaks forth what God has shown him. The same con cordance gives the meaning of proph- esy as : (1) to speak by divine in- spiration, (2) to foretell, (3) to explain religious subjects, to preach, to exhort.
