At three o'clock-Sunday afternoon the pupils of Notre Dame and St. Vincent's Academy embled in thy spacious hall of the cofivent. Des- pite the fact that the worries of examination time weigh heavily upon their minds the pupils seemed radi- ant with happiness. Many of them 'who have been boarders all year, are leaving in the hope of seeing their dear home friends ere the close of the week ahd all anxiously anticipate the joys of vacation time. Rev. Father A. J. Hanley, rector of St. Mary's cathedral, the Mother Su- perior and the Sisters of the teaching staff, spent a pleasant hour with the pupils. Miss Isa May Cassidy read an address to the reverend rector, ac- knowledging with gratitude his inter- est in the work of the school and his care and fatherly solicitude in all that concerns the "little-ones of his flock." Miss Mary Gratton in excellent voice, sang "Come Unto Me." Miss Marion Shannon played "Barecarolle," by McDowell, in a very pleasing man- ner. Her interpretation was excel- lent and did much credit to this young pianist. The mother superior testitied to the excellent work done by the pupils during the year just ended and an- nounced the prizes for excellence in the high school.
