Some years later she went with the Harkins Stock from the Maritime Later she played the leading cities of Can- ada as "Alethea' in the famous old play "In Old Kentucky," when that show was in its prime. To make sure that her first venture as a pro- ducing-manager woul@ be successful, Miss Anderson purchased outright George Taylor's original New York i production of "On the Hiring Line," in which May Irwin scored such a hit last season. The play is a farce- comedy dealing with the servant problem in a manner that keeps you laughing nearly every minute. Miss Anderson not only produced and di- rected the play, but will appear in Miss Irwin's part when "On the Hiring Line' appears at the Grand Opera House on Saturday, Oct. 2nd. --Advt, William Faversham Coming. Mark Twain's "The Prince and the Pauper," one of the loveliest, most entertaining and instructive tales of old English life, will come into stage being at the Grand Opera House. Monday, Oct. 4th. "The Prince and the Pauper" is the story of the wand- ering Prince and the Pauper king-- an impressive picture of ancient legal aud regal cruelty--and is as fine and consistent a tale as exists in the realm of pure romance. Of all Sam- vel L. Clemen's works of fiction, it is perhaps the most coherent as to plot, most carefully thought out and most perfect as to workmanship. "The Prince and the Pauper' will be told in four acts and seven scenes and will have the advantage of a spectacular production with all the costumery of the early period and the settings to insure the authen- ticity of the production.--Advt.
