James Wellington Taft away at his residence, 41 Union, street, on Friday night, after an ill- ness extending over nearly a year. Last winter, after arriving in Winni- peg, where he went to accept a posi- tion, he suffered a stroke of apoplexy in February and only recovered suf-: ficiently to return home. Since that time he has been an invalid. The late Mr. Taft was born at Blue Mountains, was fifty- passed trade. His wife and family have re- sided in Kingston for the past five years, during which time oir charming talents have become wide- ly known and 'appreciated. Those surviving are Mrs. Taft, four daugh- ters, Misses Grace, organist of Prin- cess Street Methodist church; Hilda, Mary and Florence, all at home; and three sons, Dr. Victor L., Cochrane; John and Reginald, also at home.
