The 1911 census gave Canada a population of 7,206,648. This shows a 22% per cent. increase for the intervening nine year period. In 1871 the popu- lation numbered only 8,687,257, so that the increase in fifty years. is almost 120 per gent. This is by far the highest rate of increase ex- petienced by any country.
