Martin Harvey Coming, Sir John Martin Harvey has made "The Breed of the Treshams' almost a8 much a household word as "The Only Way," 'and his performance of Reresby the Rat vies with that of Siduey Carton in the affections of the playgoing public. Dealing with the stirring 'times of the parliamen- tary wars of Charles I of England, this play provides one of the most thrilling dramatic stories that the modern stage has given us, and the popular actor-knight is seen in a part which runs the whole gamut of the emotions. The story of his life which | he tells to his half-brother Tresham, is & mever-to-he-forgo®en example of his great artistic powers, and his in- tensity in the terture scene has rare- ly been equalled by any actor of tha past two decades. The staging and stage-management of this fine play #re full of color and atmosphere, and ue very able company: that supports John, do full justice to the many characters of the drama, among whom, Miss N. de Silva, has made a t name in the part of Betty, the |edy?
