GASPARD DUBORD 159 Avenue Pius IX, Montreal. "For three years, 1 was a terrible sufferer from Dyspepsia and my general health was very bad. I consulted a physician and took his medicine and faithfully carried out his instru *¢ions; but I did not improve and Jinally the doctor told me I could not be cured, At this time, a friend advised ms to try 'Fritanpes and I did so. After taking two boxes of Fruita tives, I was greatly relieved ; apd gradually this marvelous fruit medicine made me completely well. My digestion and general health are splendid --all of which I owe to "Fruit-a-tives". * GASPARD DUBORD, B0c.a box, 6 for $2.50, trial size, 250, -At all dealers or sent postpaid by _Fruibatives Limited, Ottawa, Ont * Regularity Nujol makes you regu. lar as clockwork. Toronto, June 4.--In profit, $300,- 000 to $400,000 will -find its way into the provincial treasury this year as a result of a good stroke of busi- ness pulled off recently by the On- tario Bohrd of License Commission- | ers--a sort of parting gift from the { chairman, J. D. Flavelle, who has | severad his connection with the gov- | erhment, It is unferstood that some | time before the new tax was put on { liquor by the finance minister's bud- | get, the license board had a tremen- { dous amount of purchased liquor in bond. In the ordinary course of busi- | ness this liquor would be brought out | of bond only as ft was required, The:* | chairman, with the coming budget and the probability of a further levy on liquors in mind, took up with his colleagues the advisability of taking out all liquor in bond. The govern- ment was also consulted and the | large amount of money required to put the plan through was provided. | The budget, of course, put a heavy additional levy on liquor and had the province been forced to pay it on the stock of liquor so recently in bond it | would have been nearly $400,000 out of pocket. The government might have decided to let the purchasers of liquors from the dispensaries get the benefit of a stroke of business fore- sight, but the provincial treasury is the $1 increase per bottle in the priec {of "wet goods" went on when the jump in excise came along to justi- fy it, even though the dispensary liquor escapeg it. Many children start school in ex- cellent health, but after a short time home work, examinations, hurried meals and crowded school rooms cause their blood to bscome weak, their nerves over-wrought and their colors and spirits lost. It is a mis- take to let matters drift when boys and girls show symptoms of nervous- ness or weak blood. They are almost sure to fall victims of . St. Vitus dance, or drift into 'debility that leads to other troubles. Regular meals, out-door exercise and plenty of sleep are necessary to combat the nervous wear of school life, But it is still more important that parents should pay attention to the school child's blood supply. Keep this rich and red by giving Dr. Williams' Pink Pills and the boy or girl will be sturdy and fit for school. The value lof Dr. Williams' Pink Pills in cases {of this kind is shown by. the state- {ment of Mrs, Watson, Grand Falls, IN.B., who says: "In the spring of | OROP CONDITIONS | | | | SCHOOL CHILDREN ploughing done last : fall REPORTED GOOD Manitoba Farmers Optimistic and Expect Banner Crop | This Year. | Winnipeg, Juné 4.--With all con- ditions pointing to a banner ecrcp, Manitoba 'farmers are generally op- | timistic regarding the yield this year, | according to a report issued by the provincial agriculture department to- | day. The resolution provides, among other things, for deleting the words, "do- miciled and resident in Canada' from the act, The effect of this will be to make f returned soldiers, whether domi- ciled in Canada or not, eligibie for in- surance. Another amendment pros vides that payments of insurance shall not exceed $1,000 on the death' of the insuied, and the remainder, if any, or the portion thereof t~ which any beneficiary is entitled, shall, at the option of the insured, be payable &s an annuity, Another amendment grants to the insured the power of designating by declaration who will receive the benefit of his insurance, should he die unmarried or a widower without children. ; : On motica of the prime minister, TORT TE , a. ¥ ; = haa
