Dr. Smith Is a master in arts in the university of Cambridge, doctor of science in the university of Durham and fellow of the Geological Society. In the three years before the war, he wes in the British Museum classifying and nam- ing fossil corrols. He was also lec- turer in the University of Wales at Aberystanyth. War service in England and France, he was then appointed temporarily to the geological survey for special work in the north of England. Last winter Dr. Smith was acting head of the geological department of Bedford College for women. Dr, Smith has a long list of publications to his credit and heating system projects, and hopes to soon see, with the lowering of building expenses, the new library started.
