Penny Bank Left Over. Trustee Jones stated that the spec- fal committee appointed to take up the question of establishing a penny bank in the schools had not convened as yet, and he felt that perhaps it would be better to allow the matter to stand over for next year's board. And to this the board agréed. The board as advised that if it was de- cided to operate the bank, the board would be called upon to meet the ex- pense of the stationery required. It is understood that this will be pro- vided for the board at cost. Birth Control Leaders 8ay Police Play Unfair New York, Dec, 9.--Birth control bropagandists charged yesterday that they had been "scooped" om the final session of the police department 1- quiry which they had demanded in connection with the raid on their meeting November 13th. Their counsel said that he had re- ceived no notice that the hearing was to be continued today. Consequently he was not present. ! Captain Donohue testified that he stopped the meeting because of the law. He testified that he had seen in the audience a number of children between 10 and 12 years of age. A police-woman and two patrol- men testified to observing "females of tender years"--whom birth con- trol propagandists had pronounced bob-haired college girls. Chief Inspector Lahey, who con- ducted the inquiry, reserved decision.
