Macdonald for going west. Sir John was defeated at King- ston in the general election of 1878, but immediately afterward was elect- ed by acclamation in Marquette, Man., which he vacated on accept- ance of office as premier and minis- ter of the interior on October 17th, | |1878. Left Leg Fractured. o Becoming caught in the pulley of a gasoline engine which he was oper- ating on his farm in Elizabethtown, north of the Ontario hospital, on Tuesday, Marcus Davison, well know farmer, father of Thomas J.
