Dale's Fine Address to the Rotary Club. | 1 i -- A splendid address by Rotarian {Rev. W. Taylor Dale on "Citizen- | ship," featured the weekly luncheon (of the Kingston Rotary Club, held {on Friday. Rotarian Rex Snelgrove | presided, and there was a/%ood at- | tendance of the members. The members hope for a speedy re- covery Secretary Roy Ward ennounced that the local club would bave a from twenty-five or 'perhaps members of the Rotary Club in Toronto, some time during Febru- ary or March. The club received a letter from the Soldiers' Civil Re-establishment thanking the club for the invitation to the play put on during Christmas week by the Rex Stock Company, at the Grand. In his address, Rotarian Dale spoke on "Citizenship" from the standpoint of civie, domindon, imper- ial and world. "I think it is the duty of every | citizen to shoulder some responsibil- ity. If a citizen is not in some Te- | sponsible position, then he should do all in his power to help those who {are. There is something in the atmos- phere that brings out the best that is in a man. All who came out to Canada from the old land will agree with me when say this. And I have been here long enough to eee this Canadian epirit--one of persever- {ance and optimism. It 4s the kind of spirit that nothing can keep back. It is the type of epirit that is mani- fested when a men has lost every- thing, and says he will build again, and is determined to go ahead. Every I man who 8 worthy of the name of a || Canadian should declare thet he is going to make good and do it." Speaking about citizenship from an imperial stahdpoint, the speaker referred to the fact that when he first came out to Canada from the ol land, he was out to the Rocikies, end then drew a picture of his re- cent visit to the old Jand. At the Rodkies he feit right at home with the people and on his trip overseas be got into conversation with an Australian and was night et home with him too. The British spirit united us in one great brotherhood CITIZENSHIP" Taylor say that they should "get on, or get | le oncerned with our own back yard, | but We must be interested in world- wide affairs. It fs for all of us to develop this spirit.
