Question Was Raised in Case in the Supreme Court. Who owns the 'Black Maria" of the police department ? This point was raised at the session of the su- preme court, in the action taken by Edmund Aikens against the city ana police commissioners, for damages as a result of a collision between his car and the police patrol. A. B. Cun- ningham, K.C., acting for the plain- tiff, put in evidence to show that the patrol was purchased by the police commissioners, on the money being granted by the city council. Mr. Cun- ningham presented all minutes of council regarding the transaction. The sum of $3,000 was paid for the police car. t Evidently straw hats are in order again.
