He is sur vived by his son, Harold, and daugh- ter, Mrs. J. Nelson Barnes, and his father, Thomas Campbell; William Campbell, Mrs. H. Warwick, Kingston, and a brother, Beecham Campbell, Calgary, Alta. Death of Mrs. Calvin Spencer. Frederica May Kayler, wife of Cal- vin C. Spencer, died unexpectedly at Midland, Nov. 4th. Mrs. Spencer, up to the time of her marriage, had her home with: her uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Richard H. Hubbs, Picton. On June 1st, 1921, she was united In marriage with Calvin C. Spencer, son of C, Clapp Spencer, Picton, and went to Midland where Mr. Spencer Is engaged in business. On Octbber 27th, a daughter was born to them and mother and babe were progress- ing so favorably that cause for anx- iety appeared to have passed. The rupturing of a blood vessel was the cause of death and the rejoicing over the arrival of a daughter suddenly turned to grief. For years a light has been located on the island. About five years ago, how- ever, an automatic light was install- ed, making the services of a resi- dent keeper unnecessary. The keep- er of the breakwater light here has looked after the light on the slang which is so arranged that it wil} light automatically as soon as dark- ness falls and then be extinguished with the arrival of daylight. The dwelling sets on Mile Tree Point, high up fom the shore, and is wen adapted for use as a summer home. The land includes about two acre. The lighthouse department win re- tein only a small strip on which the light stands. ------ Municipal Elections Go On. Many ratepayers of Smith's Falls Supposed that when a by-election was announced to take place in Lanark county on Dec. 4th the council would rescind its by-law providing for mun- iclpal nominations on Nov. 27th and elections on Dec. 4th, but the coun- cil has decided to let the bylaw i stand. Though municipal elections | will come on the same day as the ted- | eral by-election, nominations for the | former will not conflict with those of ! the latter.
