Through the untiring efforts of Mr Telgmann and the associates, the Kingston Symphony Orchestra hay for the past twelve years or more given annual concerts with genuine art stic results, though sometimes financially discouraging to its mem. bers, A local organization, such a: the Symphony Orchestra, should re- ceive the support of every citizen, becausé it is an educational organiz- ation for the risins generation. Therfore, those, who are ever realy to support outside attractions, should 2lso show a little interest in heir own talent. We are just as musically and educationally rich, per population, as any other city in Canada. Think it over. Upper House. INDOOR RIFLE SHOOTING. To Be Commenced by the Princess of Wales' Own Regiment. It is learned that the Princess of Wales' Own Regiment contemplate reviving the old regimental rifle as- sociation with which end in view a meeting of all those interested in rifle' shooting will be called for an early date in the new year, for the purpose of formulating plans and making the necessary preparations. It is also the intemtion of the commanding.officer that the associa- tion take up indoor rifle shooting on miniature ranges, and that practice in this branch shall commence as early in the new year as possible and shall be conducted one evening every week. AppMcation will be made by the regiment to enter a team in the Indoor Rifle League which includes teams throughout the whole dominion. It is considered thaf this will at- ford excellent practice especially for recruits and the younger shots who will, thereby, have an epportunity of perfecting themselves in the elements of rifle shooting prior to theit an- null practice on the service ranges at Barriefleld in the Spring, when it | Is expected that a full nine weeks will be occupied before the whole of the unit has fired its course. While the formation of the rifle association is no new departure for the Princess of Wales' Own Regi- ment, activity in this branch has been more or less dormant and its revival will, it is expected and hop- ed, provide, not only the means of imparting elementary instruction to the young aspirants, but will supply the foundation for much recreation and friendly competition amongst all ranks. -- Made a Good Collection.
