It is stated that all records for quick construction have been beaten in the building of this rink. On August 22nd, R. J. McLel- land, who was awarded the con'ract to do the mason work on the new building, commenced work. His first job was to cut down the trees and shrubbery and make way for the new edifice When it was accomplished the workmen immediately got down to making the concrete blocks from which the walls were constructed The blocks which have a hollow cen- | tre, are the best of their kind ssen in ars All the bricks, sills and lintels were manufactured on the grounds. The blocks are of two varieties Mr. McLelland is to be {congratulated on the excellent work- 'manship. On account of the ncn-arrival of 'he.steel structure, which was de- layed four weeks, the front portion the the building, that is, looking on Clergy street west, was first built. Upon the arrival of the .steel, Mr. {McLelland and his men got the steel (structure in place in quick order.
