These eveats, which started at the camp of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Anglin, early in the summer, have been exception- elly popular and it is with general ~egret that the cool weather forced the breaking up of the gatherings, The programme Sunday night consisted of songs, choruses, speech- €8 and musical selections, those tak- ing part including Miss Stagg, of the Y.W.C.A., at the Plano, assisted by Mr. Watson, of the R.M.C., on the violin, and Prof, 0. F. Telgmdnn, Miss Telgmann and Mr. Telgmann, Jr.,, Frank Anglin, D. A. Shaw, Miss Buhlig, secretary of the Y. W.C. A, Major McManus, H. V. Moore, Miss Edna Crumley, Mrs. Galloway, Mrs. B. F. Casselman, Miss Vanalstyne, Miss Henstridge, Miss Reid, Jack Elder, Earl Pidgeon and others, B. F. Casselman, Vancouver, B, C., act- ed as chairman. The steam- er Fifetown is ap American vessel. Late Dr. Reid, Barre, Vt, Word has been recefved in King- Ston of the death in Barre, Vermont, on Sunday of Dr. Ww. D. Reid, son of the late James Reid, a Kingston merchant. Dr. Reid graduated gat Queen's medical college in 1880 and had been Practising in Barre, Vermont, for over forty years. His wife was formerly Miss Sarah Hay- ward, sister of Mrs. Thomas Hewitt, Lower Union street. ---- Preached in St. George's. Rev. J. Connolly Dixon preached an excellent sermon in St. George's cathedral on Sunday morning, on the need of patience and faith in these days of hurry and rush when the thought in every one's mind Seems to be how much business or Pleasure they can crowd into the hours.
