Playing their yoles like artists, | Jane Hastings apd her clever eom- | pany of players delighted another packed house in their second even- | ing's rendering of the comedy. "Turn To The Right." It is a comedy of | elean parts filled with healthful en- | joyment, and those who had the plea- | sure of being there received one of | the best tonics in the world--that of | a good laugh. | This pleasing comedy will be play- | ed again this evening. | After the third act, A. J. Latelle, {who is a barrel of fun in himself, nounced to the audience just what a company intends doing while hete. Nothing but the very best class of plays and the latest procurable will be put on during the company's stay here. '"Forty-Five -Migutes from Broadway." | JACKIE COOGAN COMING IN GREAT CIRCUS PICTURE Jackie Coogan is with us again and best of all he returns in what may [truly be called the most -delightful | vehicle of his screen career--a | rollicking circus picture, which | openg at the Allen theatre on Thurs- | day for a three day's run. ~~ The wistful little figure of 'My | Boy" and "Daddy" is given a part | in the First National picture, "Cir- | cus Days," that seems better suited | to his talents than anything else he has done for the silent drama. "Circus Days," as presented by ! 801 Lesser, is a picture' of circus life. It is an adaptation of James | . Jackie os Otis's celebrated gtory, "Toby Tyler or Ten Weeks With a Circus," fiim- ed under the masterful direction of Eddie Cline, Jackie plays the stellar role of Toby Tyler, a youngster who, with his widowed mother, is forced to live on the farm of a hard-hearted uncle. Driven to desperation, Toby runs away from home to join = circus. How he rises from a peanut merchant of the "big top" to be a star of the sawdust ring, bringing happiness and prosperity to his mother is one of the most refreshing tales ever unfolded om the screen. And the whimsical humor and touching flashes of pathos that have distinguished past screen per. formances of this big-eyed little star are stronger than ever in 'Circus Days." A cast of unusual excellence sup- ports Jackie. Barbara Tennant mak- es a fine screen mother to the young star, while Russell Simpson succeeds splendidly in making you despise him as Eben Holt, the hard-hearted uncle of Toby. Cesare Gravini, who distiinguished himself as the old mausicial in "Daddy," wins many new admirers by his admirable work as the old clown who befriends Toby. Peaches Jackson, as the darling lt- tle equestrienne star of the circus, who wins Toby's undying affections, is a new screen "find" of whom much may be expected in the future. It is Toby's efforts to save the day ing for her when she sprains her ankle thet result in his surprise jump to the hit of the circus, Sam De Grasee is to be seen as Mr. Lord, the lemonade man, while De Witt Jennings portrays Mr. Daly, the circus owner, Nellle Lane, "the world's fattest woman," and Willlam Barlow, "the world's skinnlest man," are headliners among the cir- cus freaks. Some of the America's leading cin cuses, which were wintering in CaM- fornia during the making of the picture, supplied the background for the best circus picture that has ever option. been put on the screen. goodly audiences to th: theatre on the hill the last two days. Mae is as merry as ever in this new picture, | exquisitely gowned an. astonishing | all by her unique gifts as a dancer. An old Kingston favorites is the star' of the big artraction for Thurs- | day, Friday and Saturday, no less a person than Tom Mix Of course | Tom is assisted by his faithful *"To- | ny," the wonder horse. "Soft Beil- | ed" is the title of this rollicking, | corking = comedy, and overybody | starts guessing as to why hardy, | daredevil Tom should star as a "'soft- boiled" hero. Why, tnat's where | much of the fun comeas in. But be | quite clear on one point, Tom does | all that we expect of him in this | picture. He's as daring and dashing as ever he can be, and the action | is swift enough for the keenest lover | of adventure And "Tony?" Wall, he's still the real wonder horse. There's a strong supporting cast in "Scft Boiled," headed by Billie Dove. one of the most lovable lassies of the screen. Now for big news and good news! " The authorities at the General Hospital are endeavoring to locate relatives of the late Ira Patterson, aged seventy-six years, who died at the hospital on Saturday last, fol- lowing an illness extending over six months. Deceased came to the hospital from Folger Station, and it appears that while in the institution he wrote | letters to people living at Folger] Station. The hospital authorities sent word to people living at Folger Station, who it was presumed were relatives of the deceased, but word was received that they had left for Lansdowne. People living at Alex-| andria Bay, believed to be relatives, | were also communicated with, but | thus far no person has claimed tha} body. Alen, Cornell University, Ithaca, N.Y. The infor- mation furnished them regarding its capture was very valuable and ap- preciative, enabling them to advance the important investigation relative to the migration and life histories of their native birds.
