Mr. Rear is general bridge engineer of the Southern Pacific system, with headquarters at Oakland, Cal. On Dec. 28th, 1923, Mr. Rear erect- ed one of the largest bridges in the southern states. Apnointed Delegates. At a meeting of the Brockville Board of Education Dr. J. L. Car- roll, E. J. Smith, W. P, Carswell, W. J. Manahan and George Ross were appointed delegates to the meeting of the Urban School! Trus- tees' Association in Kingston on Feb. 26th to 29th. A Business Change. An important business change and the establishment of a new industry in Belleville have been the result of the purchase by G. K. Graham from his father, R, J. Graham, of the cold storage plant and a section of the main warehouse in the Gra- ham Block between Front and Pin- nacle streets. An artificial ice plant will be added. The Late Mrs. Margaret Carter There passed away at her home in the ninth concession of Thurlow, Margaret Carter, wife of William H. | Carter. Deceased, whose ma'den name was Vance, was horn in Elze- vir township in 1852. On May 27th, 1876, she was married to Mr. Car- ter, in Cannifton church, Mr. Carter was then a cheesemaker and moved in turn to Marlbank, Howick, Que- bec, Picton and Latta, Besides the husband there survive three daugh- ters and two sons. Mrs. Pearsall, Halloway, Mrs, Ish, Roslin, Mrs. Holbert, Toronto; Charlie, Demorest- ville and William on the home farm. Died in Florida. The death of Mrs. Alisa R. Steb- bins, wife of Dr. Jathes Stebbins, Clayton, N.Y., one of the prominent citizens of the village, took place Sunday morning following an illness of several weeks. She passed away in Florida. Mrs, Stebbins was the daughter of Capt. and Mrs. Rad- cliff, England, who settled In King- ston, Ont.
