Mr. Shortall had been ill for about a year but had been improving and visiting with relatives whem his illness came upon him. The remains were removed tq his home on the Middle Road and the funeral will take place Tyesday morning at nine o'clock (standard time) to the Church of the Holy Name at Cush- endall in charge of the James Reid firm. Canon R. 8. Forneri, who died in Peterboro last week. The altar was LATE MRS. MARSHALL, STELLA Passed Away at the Age of Bight Six Years. Stella, June 28.--The death took place at Conway, at the home of hel son-in-law, F. P. Instant, on June 21st, of an old and much respected resident of Amherst Island, in the person of Mrs. J. Marshall, at the age of eighty-six years and_six months The late Mrs. Marshall's hudband predeceased her fifteen years ago. For the last three years fe madd her home with her daugh| an family at Conway, where she - cared for by her only daughter her granddaughters. All that lo care and .attention could be give Mrs. Marshall was cheerfully given by all this family. She leaves to mourn the -loss qf a loving mother; one daughter, Mrs, F. P. Instant, and fours sons, David, of the Americas Navy; Robert, of Amherst Islan Hugh, of Fort Pitt, Sask., and Jo of Ottawa. The funeral was held from her daughter's home to Ame herst Island by motor where it 'was met by a large number of friends and neighbors of deceased, then to Bt, Paul's Presbyterian church where her funeral service was held by Rev, W.
