They travelled by car, leaving Kingston at 7 a.m., and visit- ing the Hon. A. C. Hardy's herd of Holsteins enroute. The ! presentation took place at the British | Empire Exposition. EE -- Preachers at the Park. The auditorium services at Thous- and Island Park, N.Y. opéned the first Sunday in July and Rev. Dr. Harry C. Kline, Brooklyn, had charge of the services that day. Other speakers who will appear at the tabernacle during the summer are Bishop Charles L. Mead, Denver, is booked for July 27th, and Bishop Ernest L. Waldorf, Kansas, who will preach the first Sunday in August. Dr. Tali Elsen Morgan is in charge of the religious work at the park. -------- At Cheese Boards. At the meeting of the Picton board there were 1,378 boxes of colored cheese offered, of which 1,123 boxes sold at 16 1-8 cents per pound, and the balance at 16 1-16 cents per pound. At the cheese board at Iroquois there were 770 boxes boarded, of which 240 boxes were colored and E30 boxes white. All sold at 15 5.8 cents per pounds. At the Perth cheese board there were 1,832 boxes offered; 1,712 sold at 15 3-4 cents, balance unsold. ---------- Spoke at Hastings. G. G. Publow, Kingston, chief dairy instructor for Eastern Ontario, was the chief speaker at a meeting of the patrons of the Ormond cheese factory. In the course of his re- marks Mr. Publow said that ninety per cent. of the milk from cows was unfit for the cheese process, even from good cows. At certain seasons it is impossible to make good chéese. This yéar has been very favorable owing to the cool weather and nights. Weeds make weedy flavors in cheese as also do dandelions but these flavors may be taken out i the process of making. : Many Tourists Are Now at the Opini- Hotel, + COR Chaffey's Locks, July 3.--Many of the guests at The Opinicon Hotel re- port great fishing and excellent sport. The many shores around the lakes are dotted with tents and campers. The government steamer Loretta, with & party on board, spent the first of July here, leaving for Ottawa early Wednesday morning.
