Deseronto, July 7.--Ross Rendell, Miss Helen and Mrs. Clinton Ren- dell motored to Toronto on Satur- day to spend a few days. Mr. Rin- dell intends visiting Miss Gaynar and friends in Fenelon Falls before returning. Mrs. Lillian Woodstock accompanied them as far as Port Hope, where she will visit her sister, Mrs. Fred Solmes. Miss Zita Blackburn, after spend- ing the past two weeks under the parental roof, left on Friday to meet her American friends at King- ston, with whom she will take in the Thousand Island boat trip before returning to her home in Rochester, N.Y. C. H. German has returned from Brighton, Ont., where he has been visiting his sister-in-law. Since re- turning we are sorry to report Mr. German has been quite seriously ill. His many friends ope for his speedy recovery. Charles Stewart, of the Stewart Hotel, has been' seriously ill but we are glad to report he is on the way to recovery. Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Atkins, of Rochester, N.Y. -are spending a short vacation with Mrs. Atkins' mother, Mrs. Frank Covert, Fourth street. * Mrs, Eva Watson is at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. D. Kingsbury, East Main street, where she will make her home in the fu- ture, Mrs. Long, of Napanee, is spending a few days with C. G. Ger- man, East Thomas street. Mr. Chisholm and family, of thé Montreal Bank, left Saturday for Stayner, Ont., where they will make their home in the future. During their short stay in Deseronto, Mr. Chisholm and his family have made many' friends and "will be greatly missed in the community, especially in the Church of the Redeemer, where Mrs. Chisholm lent untiringly her greatly appreciated voice to the choir, and Mr. Chisholm never re- fused his talent at the organ, while the children, Misses Margaret and Frances, and Masters Andrew, play- ed a prominent part in the Sunday school work, / Master Andrew being secretary of the Young People's so- ciety, The best wishes of these many friends go with them in their new home in Stayner, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Leonard, of Hartington, Ont., returned to their home on Friday evening, after spending a short holiday with Mr. snd Mrs. Carscallen, East Thomas street.
