A new motor boat at Alexandria Bay, N.Y. is "The Thousand Island- er," which makes the sight-seeing trips around the islands. This boat is owned by J. Herbert Hutchinson, of this resort. Another motor boat which makes tours is operated by Capt, Joe Truesdell. To Defend George Cup. The Chaumont Yacht Club thas chosen the yacht Huskie II to defend the Silas G. George Cup in the races at Chaumont, N.Y., next week. The Huskie II is owned by Edward S. Lansing, commodore of the club, and will be commanded by him. Little Eileen Pickering, Campbell- ford, aged six lost her life by drown- ing in the Trent River in attempting to save the life of her little sister, Lily. While driving down Church street, Alexandria Bay, N.Y, Capt. B. J. Estes crashed into the big maple tree in front of Clay Kepler's home. Capt. Estes was going down the hill when another car came out of Walton street, heading up Church street. In attempting to avoid a col- lision Captain Estes threw on his brakes hard. The pavement was still wet from the recent rain and the car skidded, crashing headon into the tree. The right front spring "and fender hit the tree, while the wheel missed it. The force of the impact sank the end of the spring so deep into the tree it was necessary t) pry it loose. No one was injured, Pembroke District Entrance Results, The E. A.
