They Picked Up $260 From a Rail- way Ticket Office, Alexandria Bay, N.Y., Sept. 11.-- Stealing about $260 in bills from the money drawer at the New York Cen- tral ticket office, Tuesday afternoon, thieves overlooked an envelope con- taining approximately $600 in cur- rency which was lying nearby. The theft is one of a series of burglaries which have taken place in this village during the last few weeks and is believed to be the work of local residents, probably young men or boys who want spend- ing money. = » During the latter part of last week the American restaurant was entered and $12 in quarters and nickels was taken. Among the other recent burglaries was the one at the Cornwall store. BISHOP DOWLING'S WILL. Sister and Niece Get Life Interest in Estate. Hamilton, Sept. 11.--The late Bishop Dowling left $20,400, mostly to the church. He established a trust fund for his sister and niece. The sister gets half the proceeds of the fund for life, and the niece gets the proceeds of her half of the fund until six years after his sister's death. After that half of the trust fund will go to build a Roman Ca- tholic school at Paris, Ont. The other half will go to erect a chapel and school near West Hamilton. PRICE BROS. TO EXTEND. May Erect Newsprint Mill at St. Joseph D'Alma. Quebec, Sept. 11.--A report from the Lake St. John district, which is given much credence here in finan- cial circles, is to the effect that Price Bros, are to erect a newsprint mill at St. Joseph D'Alma, where some five hundred men will find em- ployment.
