LAID 70 REST Burial of Father, Mother, Sis- ter and Brother, Victims of Rallway Tragedy. The funeral of the late Joseph Rob- erts, Mrs. Joseph Roberts, Linwood Roberts and Sarah Jrvina Roberts, who met death by being struck by a Canadian National engine on Sunday morning, took place from the family residence, Findley Station, on Tues- day afternoon at one o'clock. The funeral service was conducted at the home by.Rev. H. M. Servage, pastor of the Woodburn Methodist church, to which the four were driving for Sunday morning service, when they met such a tragic death. Mr. Ser- vage was assisted by Rev. Mr. Dog- gett, pastor of Harrowsmith Metho- dist church, and a former pastor on that circuit. The home was crowded with peo- ple from the surrounding dstrict, who came to pay the.r last respects to the Roberts family. Four motor hearses were used to carry the bod- fes from the residence to Cataraqui cemetery. There were few dry eyes during the time the service was In progress at the home. The four bodies were placed in a new plot at Cataragui cemétery, as this was the first break fo-the fam- ily. Other points in the north section report snow, and it is believéd to be fairly general. Wagar Passes, There passed away Tuesday morn- ing at Enterprise, Mrs. J. D. Wagar, |. a vemerable and highly respected re- sident of the community, who has resided at Enterprise all her life. Her husband, who predeceased her in 1917, was a well-known merchant of that place. Mrs. Wagar was, be- fore her marriage, Miss Charlotte Denyes and was born at Odessa. She was seventy-one years of age. Sur- viving are two' daughters, Mrs. O. Gillette, of South Porcupine, Ont., and Mrs. H. A. Carscallen, Enter- prise; and four sons, Capt. 8. D. Wager, Enterprise; Vy. Stanley, North Bay; Wellington H., Enter- prise, and Frederick Barle, Leozg Beach, Cal. . The funeral will take place from the family residence at Enterprise on Thursday afternoon. Late Thomas Guess, Cataraqui, One of 'the oldest landmarks of the township of Kingnton has passed away through the death of Thomas Guess, at the Cataraqui homestead, on Saturday, Nov, 1st, at the age of eighty-three years and 9 months. De- ceased was loved by his friends for his great consistency, in his home lite, hie religion and his political viewpoint. With keen judgment he saw the straight path, which lead to a better 1ife for. himself, his family and the country in which he ved. His passing leaves to mourn his wife and son George at home, his daugh- ter, Mrs. Walter Cooke of Kipgston, and a host of friends and relatives who will miss his friendsaip and ad- vice. The funeral took place on Mon- day afternoon from his late resi- dence to Cataraqui cemetery in charge of the James Reid tirm. The pall-bearers were his eons and sons- in-law. Rev. Mr. Sisco conducted tue last services. Late Mrs. Anne M. Hunter. Mrs, Anne M. Hunter, one of Kingston's most highly respected re- sidents, passed to rest on Monday at the age of eighty-five years. Mrs. Hunter was a widow and resided with her daughter, Miss Emma Hun- ter, secretary of the Kingston Gen- eral Hospital, at 81 Gore street. She was a Methodist in religion.
