There was a large attendance, all of whom en- joyed to the full the more than ex- cellent programme provided by the Kenmore girls, a trio of most accom- plished and talented artistes. In St. Andrew's church on Monday night, a very interesting illustrated lecture on Venice -was given by Dr. G. W. Morden. Dr. Morden having spent some time in Venice, was familiar with his subject and did ample justice to fit. The views shown were excellent. Mrs. Campbell, Toronto, who has been visiting her sister, Mrs. Wil- liam A. Daly, returned to her home yesterday. Mrs. Daly accompanied her and will spend a short time in the city. Mrs. John Bell, Belleville, was in town for a few days visiting ler od friend, Mrs. W. G. Wilson, Bridge street. She returned home yesterday. Mr. William Crossley has return- ed home from Montreal. Wilfred S. Wilson is spending a few days in Toronto. T. 8. Henry is reported to be as well as can be expected, et still very weak. The fall assizes for this county opens today at the court house be- fore His Lordship Mr. Justice Rid- dell, There are two jury cases -- Montgomery vs. Munrag and Graham vs. Graham. The non-jury cases are Rayworth vs. Bell and Lawlor vs. Lawlor. Quietly Married In Kingston. Keelerville, No¥} 12.--The recent rain was much appreciated by the farmers as the ground was very hard for ploughing. A few from here have gone north deer hunting. Miss Mamie Sleeth and Ross Dixon were quietly married in St. George's Ca- thedral, Kingston, 'on Wednesday Oct. 29th, Congratulations are ex- tended to 'the happy couple. Miss Lizzie Sleeth, Toronto, is spedding sometime at her home here. A gloom was cast over the neigh- borhood by the death of Mrs. Dobbs. Mr. and Mrs. Edward An- drews spent Tuesday at Lyndhurst. Mrs. Charles Clark epent Thursday last with her aunt, Mrs. E. Hitch- cock, Sunbury. The many friends of Billy Sleeth are sorry to hear he is in the Kingston General Hospital. All hope for a speedy recovery. Miss Mildred Anglin Wilton and Miss Bertha Sleeth, Joyceville, spent Thanksgiving at thelr homes here. Miss Alice Tighe, Long Point, at Robert E. Tighe's; Miss Bernice Sutherland, Battersea, at Edward Sleeth's; Misses Audrey Kenny and Mabel Kelsey and Nathan Kenny Lyndhurst, spent the week-end at Charles Clark. The playette by the orphan children of St. Mary's-of-the-Lake was a delight- ful treat and reflects great credit on the sisters who were responsible for it, and the little ones who carried it out so well.
