'Willlamson, King FRONTENAC BOWLING ROOMS Opened New Year's By Attorney. General and Dr. Ross, M.P. The Frontenac Bowling and Re- creation rooms were formally open- ed on New Year's morning by Hon. W. F. Nickle, M.P.P., attorney-gen- eral of Ontario, and Dr. A. E, Ross, M.P., for Kingston, with a large and interested crowd present. Both gen- tlemen delivered a few words on the occasion and the alleys got away to a splendid start and were in full swing all through the day and until the closing hour at night. The Frontenac alleys have two floors in the: Harrison building, on Princess street, the second and third. On the second there are five alleys, which will be used exclisive- / ly for men and on the top floor six more which will be given over to ladies and to mifed bowling. Beautifully finished rest and dressing rooms fof both ladies and gentlemen, a check room and re- freshment counter; ars. special fea- tures of interest. The indirect lighting system is splendid and the alleys reported good by those who have already used them. Extra long runways for the in- bowler "will be the greater appreciated when the game takes a stronger hold in Kingston. (Paddy) Moran, of Queen's football game, one of the greatest quarterbacks ever geen inthe inter collegiate union, is the manager of the new enterprise, and his popula- rity will'more than help it. In the crowds which attended on opening day there were more than 150 ladies and a good percentige of these bowled and thoroughly en- joyed it. The death oocurred at the House of Providence on Tuesday evening of Mrs. Elizabeth Downs of Stirling at the age of sixty-one years. De- ceased had been at the House of Providence for the past year and a halt, The remains were sent to Stirling on Thursday for burial by M. P.
