That Clarence Park is found very attractive by the tourists and many visitors remark on the beauty of this square in the business section of the city where the scarlet cannas are | blooming and say the shaven lawns | and shade trees thrown into relief | by the grey walls of the old stone buildings made a pleasant picture to take away with them. That emancipation of the Turkish Women has been made complete with the abolition of police power of cen- sorship over dress. Hereafter wo- men will be able to wear what clothes they like, abbreviated or transparent. Most Turkish women heretofore have retained a sort of Moslem outline in their dress. This is expected to be abandoned in favor of the more primitive outline dis- closed by Occidental women. The new freedom, too, is likely to see the beginning of shinging. RIVER TRIP GIVEN PATIENTS OF MOWAT Through the Courtesy of J. M Campbell--An Enjoyable Time Spent. -- "On Thursday afternoon the pa- tients and staff of Mowat Sanatorium were the guests of Mr. J. M. Camp- bell, who. provided the steamer Brockville to take them to Georgina Island, one of the most beautiful of the Thousand - Islands, which has been turned into a national park. Nearly two hundred people, includ. ing members of the Red Cross com- mittee and some soldier patients from the Hotel Dieu, were at | the wharf at one o'clock and Mr. Camp- bell was on hand himself to see his guests made a good start. Several members of the Kiwanis Club drove the Mowat patients to the boat, and when, through a misunderstanding, some of them missed it, they were motored to Gananoque and from there crossed to the island in a'tnotor launeh. The fresh wind whitened the blue water with flecks of foam, but the sun was warm and bright and the beat. passed down the Ca- Dadian channel, through the Ad- 'miralty group of Islands near Gana- Roque and on past Fiddler's Elbow, one of the most lovely spots on the river. An orchestra, provided from the canteen funds of Mowat hospi- tal, was on board and played a de- lightful programme. Old airs that everyone knew and loved were play- ed and sung by the merry party.
