Autumn flowers and palms deck- ed St. Anne's Church, Toronto, for the marriage at 6 o'clock last Wed- nsday evening of Elva Elizabeth daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Laird, formerly of Kingston, to Mr. Herbert James Long, son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Long, Toronto. Rev. Canon Skey officiated. The bride wore white georgette and lace over white satin and her tulle veil adorn- ed with orange blossoms was ar- ranged with a fan-shaped frill. She carried Ophelia roses and lilies of the valley. Her bridesmaids were Miss Jean Laird in blue georgette and Miss Ada Long in peach. Both wore, black velevet hats and carried roses. Mr. Gordon Long was best man and the ushers were Mr. George Leng and Mr, Ross Laird. During the signing of the register, Miss Vera Wilkinson sang. At the reception afterwards, Mrs. Laird wore brown crepe with*a brown panne velvet hat, Mrs. Long wore navy blue georgetts trimmed with browa- fox and black velyet hat with burnt peacock feather. Both carried pink roses. When leaving for New York the bride wore powder blue satin with brown carmina coat and hat to match and a biege fox fur, the gift of the grogm.
