Toronto, Sept. 30.--In fine but cool weather, 360 boys, the pick of Ontario's schools, from public to collegiate, took part today in the Ontario boys' track and fleld meet, sponsored by the Ontario Athletic Commission. Forty-five boys from Thunder Bay District, forty-six from Ottawa' Valley, thirty from Western «Ontario, forty-one from Owen Sound District, thirty-six from North Bay territory, thirty-six from Central Ontario, fifty-six from Hamilton and Toronto district and forty-three from Kingston district contested the six- ty-five events. During the morning contestants were reduced to four in each of the field events and jumps, while in the sprints and' hurdles two qualified in each heat, Hon. G. H. Ferguson, Hon. Dr. Forbes God- frey apd T. A. Murphy, chairman of the Ontario Athletic Commission, were honorafy referees, with Dr. Merchant and Dr, Colquhoun. The chief inspectors were Harry Price and Harvey Putford of the Ontario Athletic Commission, and T. A. Mc- Ginnis, of Kingston, also a member of the 0.AC.
