The Frontenac county jail appears to hold the record in regard to the feeding of prisoners. Last year, ac- cording to Governor Hawkey's re- port, it cost just 14% cents a day to feed a prisoner at the Union street prison. The Carleton county jail feeding figure was 15% cents a day, and the Grey County penal institution it cost 17.88 cents a day, an increase, instead of a decrease, as was the case in theylocal jail.
