Defeat Science by a Single Medicine defeated Science by the score of 6-5 in an inter-faculty rugby game played at the lower campus, Queen's, on Thursday afternoon, From the first, Science played fast ball and in the first quarter, scored a safety and two rouges, giving them four points to Meds' nothing. In the second quarter, Meds tightened down and scored a rouge and held Science to their same score. The third period was productive of the best ball of the game, Both teams played air-tight rugby and neither could score, although there were some very narrow escapes. Medicine opened the last quarter with a bang and it was not long till they succeed- ed in getting a touch, Ewart Lindsay going over, giving them a two-point lead. Science came back strong but the best they could do was a rouge and the game ended 6-6 in Meds' favor. Fire which broke out in a bakery shop at Tamworth Friday morning, | completely destroyed the building and all its contents with a damage | of over $1,000. The bakery was own- ed by Mr. Percy York of Tamworth ness about a week ago. About 4.30 Mr. York was going to his store to work when he discovered the build. ing on tire. The flames had made fast headway and the interior was a mass of flames, An alarm was sound- ed to which all the villagers respond- ed and although great work was done by them, the building was come. pletely destroyed. The surround. buildings, which were constantly in danger, were saved through the splendid efforts of the fire brigade, There is no insurance to cover , the loss and the cause of the fire is not known. Accidentally Shot In Jaw While Hunfing James Gloss, aged about thirty-eight years, who lives at Clyde Forks was brought to the Hotel Dieu Hospital on Thursday af- ternoon suffering from wounds Mr. home.
