It was a large and appreciative audience that gathered in Cooke's "United Church on Monday evening to hear the sacred song recital given by Mrs. B. Treneer, who was assist ed by the male quartette of Cooke's. Miss Bessie Rogers, organist and choir leader, gave an organ selec- tion, "Offertoite in ¥." by Read, which was masterful and proved her ability as an organist. Mrs. Treneer rendered five solos. and her audience from the with her full sweet voice and distinct enunci- sation. Her high notes 'registered true and sweet, and Mrs. Troneer proved her right to be ranked as one of the best soloists' in the oity. Cooke's Church is indeed fortunate in having a soloist of this calibre, who can render the most difficult selections written, as pleasingly as the simpler ones.
