And at the bat he has been walloping the ball in the same style that made him the best hitter of the Coast League last year. Cuyler is going great guns. Bigbee has been subbing for Barnhardt, who was rather badly hurt by a fall early in the training sgdson, McKechnie's pitchers are in flne shape. Vic Aldridge never looked better; Lee Meadows spent the win- ter in Florida and is as frisky as a two-year-old; Ray Kremer has, if anything, found more speed; Yde, Babe Adams and Johnny. Morrison are burning them over. For catchers McKechnle stil] has Earl Smith, .Grooch and Spencer, Punch---speed---pitching---class. Yes, folks, what are the other teams doing? 1 ATHLETIC COMMISSION IS FUNCTIONING WELL Will Send Winners of Toronto Meet to the Champion= ships at Meaiil. Toronto, April 13.--The- Ontario J Athletic Commission has decided to send at its expense the following winners of the athletic champion- ships at. the fall meet here to the national school championships at McGill University on May 29th. Shanacy, Midland, high jump and broad jump; St. Clair Davidson, Listowel, middle distances; Finlay- son, Midland and St. Andrew's Col- lege, 'sprints; Skeffington, Toronto, sprints; Agnew, Winchester, hurdles and jumps; Broderick, Midland, shot; McArthur, Windsor, pole vault. This team has been placed in the hands of the Commission coach, Walter Knox, and each must satisfy him as to his ability and willingness to train for the games. - Mr. Knox will approve these boys after seeing them at work, or substitute ot%ers if he thinks that action will serve the purposes of the team better. Hamilton Collegiate are sending a relay team to these games, and they too, will compete in individual events, so that Ontario will be re- presented by a formidable feam-- and, after all, this is the place to look for material for the next Olym- pic games. Incidentally Hamilton Board of Education is flhancing its own team.
