Stomach troubles, cholera in- fantum and diarrhoea carry off thou- sands of little ones every summer, in most cases because the mother does not have a safe medicine at hand to give promptly. Baby's Own Tablets relieve these troubles, or if given oec- casionally to the well child they will prevent their coming on. The Tab lets are guaranteed by a government analyst to be absolutely harmless even to the new-born babe. They are es- pecially good in summer because they regulate the bowels and keep the stomach sweet and pure. They are sold by medicine dealers or by mail at 26 cents a box from The Dr. Wil- liams' Medicine Co., Brockville, Ont. NAPANEE Napanee, July 23.--Rev. Mr. and Mrs. Truscott of West Huntingdon are visiting Mrs. Truscott's parents, Mr. and Mrs. M. B. Mills. Miss Margaret Gleeson bf Toronto, is visiting her mother Mrs. John Gleeson. It is therefore plain to see that the circus has ad- vertised itself. The acts of the different perform- ers were received with round after rcund of applause. From the acts of the tiny clown dog, to the daring feats of the flying 'aerialists, from start to finish of the show, there was not a single act that was not heart- ly appreciated by the audience. The flyin Franklyns gave an exhi- biiion of aerialistic work that could nat but win the admiration of the on- lookers. The one-legged actors, Large and Morgner, gave a perform- ance that would make many a two- legged circus performer wonder. They received a great ovation from the audience, and they fully deserv- ed it. Never before, in Kingston, has a performance, such as the Bald- win Girls gave, been seen. trapeze Mr. Frank Shepperd gave a wonderful exhibition, as did the Luckey Sisters, The strong-woman act, by Madame Tyana, was one of the most amazing acts in the entire show. The wire walking stunts by Mr. Allie Johnston, could not have been received better. What would a circus be like with- out clowns? You will admit that you would miss them. The clowns of the Bob Morton show are very much in prominence, creating laugh- ter from the start of the show till the end. The side show is stil] draw- ing large crowds, and none are dis- satisfied with the exhibitions. The Kiwanians are doing wonderful busi- néss in their concessions, in the an- nex tent, and are getting great vocal traiping. The Charleston Contest. A special feature Friday night, was the Charleston contest. ~The Misses Edna and Lillian Cohen, Miss Winnifred Hilton, and Mr. Harold Fontaine each showed to advantage in' the dance. Each danced separate ly, and then by popular applause, the two contestants for the final dance were decided. Miss Hilton and Mr. Fontaine were chosen by the audience for the finish. The decision between Miss Hilton and Mr. Fon- tain was very close, but Mr. Fontaine waived his claim to the cup and pre- sented it to Miss Hilton. The president of. the Kiwanis Club, Mr. Columbus Hanley, when asked how the circus venture was showing financially for the club, said that it was wonderful. The Kingston people should ask their neighbors what they thought of the circus, and then help out the Ki. waais Club in their good work. ------------ } The call of the cricket is really a language, it is said to have been proved by a recent experiment whes a female cricket was made to call through a telephone, whereupon a male insect at the other end of the line became excited on hearing the note.
