ING ON UNIVERSITY AVENUE. Howard 8S. Dick Appointed Assistant City Eagineer--Hedge on Property Must Be Removed. The members of the Bpard of Works, who met vesterday after for the first time since sum- expressed themselves as highly pleased with the asphalt paving so far done on University avenue. The city's new plant is giving good ser- vice, and the work being done is of the best. The Cigy Engineer stated th next spring" everything would bg in readiness to proceed with what- ever further road paving the Board might direct. The boulevard in the centre of the University avenue road- way along the university grounds is to be turned over to the Parks' Com- mittee On recommendation of Engineer, Howard Dick was ap- pointed assistant engineer at a sal- 'ary of $1,000 a year Mr. Dick has in charge of the road paving plant this season. The engineer and his assistant will do all the inside clerical work of the office during the winter, doing away with the em- ployment of a clerk. Until the road work is completed M. E.
