Trudeau was mityied a saort time after he enlisted with the 59th battalion of Brockville. When the battalion was leaving for overseas, his wife took ill and died after an operation was performed on hor, Mrs. Mary Laplante, who is taking care of the little girl wired to the soldier when his wife was ill and he was allowed to return to his sik wife, the regiment proceeding over- seas. After he buried his wife he enlisted with the 80th battalion of Belleville, and when this regiment arrived in England he was placed back in his old battalion. No word has been received ffom the father of the child for five we He had been in the trenches June 27 and never appeared in casualty list - before. The miss! soldier is only 22 years of age. A week-end without a case for the Police Court shows that the Temper- ance act is working out well in Kings- ton.
