Dec.20.----An old and respected resident of this place and vicinity in the person of Mrs. Alice Bryan. died last Friday, Dee. 156th, aged eighty- nine years. Her death took place at the residence of her son-in-law, Ed- ward Eaton. The cause of her death was from old age. She leaves to mourn her loss two sons and threee daughters Her husband, John Bryan, sr., died several years ago. The funeral took place at her son- in-law"s house on Sunday last, Rev. H. Smith officiating, after which the | remains were placed in the vault at | Olivet cemetery, The pall-bearers were George Moore, G. M. Berry, C. H. Hartley, A. Chapman, J. Gamford and G. Hurlburt. Stewart and son, Roy, who spent two weeks visiting friends in Ogdens- burg, and Herman, N.Y., have re- turned home. Misses Beatrice and Ethel Simpson attended the Sunday school entertainment at Canonto on Thursday. Miss Violet Prasky spent a few days with her sister, Mrs. W. J. Boyd, Lavant. Pte. Lenns Stewart, who went overseas with the 146th, is still in England and is taking a signalling course. Mrs. A. T. Stewart was attending her nephew, William Shanks, Canonto, who is seriously ill. Miss Muriel Stewart is home from Albert College for the holiday season. The Misses Mildred and Pauline Anglin, from Sydenham High School, and Howard Balls, from Kingston Collegiate. Mr. and Mrs. Sydney Van Luven have gone to Wat- ertown, N.Y, to spend the winter with their son. .Atbert Drummond and sister, Miss Annie, of Hartney, Man, are visiting their aunt, Mrs. George Matthews, and other relatives here. DENBIGH. Dec. 22.--Robert Irvine, British Columbia, who for a week was a wel- come guest of his brother James, who has been very ill for some time, has left again for his present home. Norris Ready, who has been employed in Saskatchewan for a couple of years: has arrived home again, Mr. and Mrs. Fritsde, Webb, Sask., have also arriv- ed for a pleasant visit to their numer- ous relatives and friends here in their native home. .
