Howard Ferguson made the following statement: "It is a matter of great satis- faction that the policies and ac- tivites of the Government have been enthusiastically endorsed by the people of the province. This eromous vic- tory ig not surprising, however, as it was expected in most parts of the Province. The result in our District, however, was quite the opposite. Earl Hutcthnson, the ILabor-Far- mer-Liberal Candidate won a de- cided victory over J] P Earngey the Conservative Candidate. In every poll at this end of the constituency a big vote was polled, Dryden polling a record vole. : Mr Hutchinson's followers are elated and his friends in Kenora staged a big banquet and party to celebrate the victory, Thurs- day night. The great expansion of the Eastern division of the Kenora Conservatives Sweep Ontario Polls. Riding with a majority of 429 wealth and population was never more strictly revealed than in this election. The majority obtained by Hutchinson, the newly elect- ed member, in ths end of the riding shows clearly that we have been the deciding factors in this election. This fact should have important bearing between this end of the constituency and the sitting member. With the excep- tion of Ignace, every point show ed ' a substantial majority for Hutchinson. The result of the election in Kenora District in conjunction with the results over the Prowv- ince generally, for the Ferguson Government has been returned with a greatly increased major- ity would seem to indicate that the benefit of the Ferguson rule which has brought such response! from the rest of Ontario has not been felt in full measure.
